Your guide to grade level reading/writing

Hello, I’m Maurice – A Dyslexia and School Support Tutor

I’ve been working with parents of children with dyslexia wanting to get their child’s reading and writing to grade level for more than 25 years, starting in 1998 when I taught in places where  special ed programs were a fairly new concept at the time.  Because special education wasn’t as developed as it is now, I had the freedom to try different approaches and find methods that really worked…

With a team of teachers, I pioneered new, effective programs from the ground up, constantly innovating and modifying the programs to fit various unique needs of children with dyslexia, You could say that I know my way around the puzzling process of teaching children with dyslexia…

All my clients have faced the same issue you’re now facing, Reading difficulties are quite common, but most parents are unaware of the fact. They only realize that they need to fix this when their child’s teacher pulls them aside for a parent teacher conference to tell them their child is not meeting the grade’s expectations…

You’ve probably put your child through special ed programs in school, tried many tools or found them too hard to understand, and hired tutors who’ve just read to them, and you’re confused why all this work your child has done has not amounted to anything. Their reading/writing skills are exactly where they were years ago or have gotten worse, and your child is still reading and writing below grade level, which makes learning more advanced topics as they pass through each level of school  that much more difficult, leading to your child not being  able to graduate high school or go to university in the future…

But I can show you how easy it is to change your path and redirect your child to reading and writing at grade level so they start succeeding in school and become happier and more motivated…

During my early days I figured out that identifying each student’s unique learning challenges and adapting to those learning challenges is what matters the most. All the complex programs and reading to them couldn’t have the same effect…

As walking them through a systematic process that adapts to the child and fills all the learning gaps to get their reading and writing to grade level.

I'm in this with you

Here’s the exact 3 step process I use to get your child reading and writing at grade level:

1. Diagnosis of Learning Challenges

First, we’ll zero in on what the issue is. I'll sit down with your child for a half hour session, start tutoring them to find out how they learn, noting down where your child is struggling in his or her reading and writing. By 20 minutes into the session I’m able to know three major errors that your child needs to work on. I'll explain to you, the parent, what I'll be doing and how this is going to help your child overcome these learning challenges, so you can understand exactly what's going to happen in the next few months. I'll take out the guess work about what the things are that are really preventing your child from reading at grade level.

2. Repetition and Consistently looking for Gaps

Next is to do the same thing over and over, tutor them, evaluate and correct, always looking for gaps. This is done incrementally to fully resolve all the learning issues, continuously analyzing what your child is doing, reviewing anything that they are confused about, and adapting to their learning path so you're able to know your child has no more gaps in their reading and writing skills. Whatever your child's starting level, you will see concrete, visible improvement in their skills within the first three sessions. You will see that your child's life will be better.

3. Further Support For School and Getting to Grade Level

Finally, once they know how to read and write well, they’ll do better in school. But most schools aren't accommodating to dyslexic students. So, in addition I offer you support within the schools by collaborating with the school (teachers and administration) to make sure your child has the best school experience, i.e. using grading accommodations so they’re graded fairly and can score at the same level as the other kids in their class. With full support and knowing how to read and write, your child will have everything they need to read and write at grade level
